Well you do have to separate the baby fish from the adult fish, or else the adult fish will eat them. They sell trap type things that separate the babies but keep them within the same tank. They also sell special baby fish food, although the baby fish may just eat the flake food too. To tell if a fish is male or female depends on the type of fish, but usually the fins look differently. It is possible that if you have enough foliage in your tank that some of the babies will survive to adulthood without your doing anything special to the tank. Hope this helps, good luck!

You should keep them alone in a separate tank otherwise their parents will eat them.
