Is there a certain software I can use to put my own concepts to animation?

My fiance is a musician and his works inspire to me to create all types of hot story shorts. I want to convert these to animated shorts. I don't quite like the stiff, digital figures. I like the pinocchio after he became a real boy kind of animations. And I have a specific type of graphic and color tecture in mind that I would like to use. Is there any sort of software that allows you to create your own animations without being a cartoonist??

There are many of them.

for 2d animation you can even get photoshop with image ready.

Flash professional, Anime Studio pro by e frontier, and some others out.

for 3d you can use, 3d studio, maya, cinema4d, rhinoceros, poser, vue or even blender, it depends what you want.

as far as what softwhere or engine to create what u want im not sure but they are out there i have severl friends that are into that stuff but most the time its a video game type animetion from things like the uneal engine tho thats not what u need but might suite u is CGI softwhere
