I'm black and I say we are people too. Yes there are some black people that commit crimes, but there are people like that in other races too. I feel trully honored to be a young black woman in the world today. I'm proud about my race and heritage. But the one thing I can not stand, about some people of my own race is that the ones that don't use their education call the ones that do use theirs, acting white. I don't see how wanting to better yourself and secure your future is acting white. I mean I think more education anyone has should make them better off in the world. Because you can get great jobs and be able to take care of your family. So that is one of the things that I don't like about my own race. Another thing I can't stand is the fact that some people of my race seek out reasons and ways things are racist. I say if you go looking for it you will always get smacked in the face with it. I think a few of those people are being even more racist, because you are searching for reasons for someone to hate on you. I say everyone in the black community and myself included should just go and live life, if you are held back in one area find another arena to get involved in. But don't give up at all. Just keep striving forward more than ever before. But thats just how I see things.

I have met very few that I could really trust with a great answer. When I went to college I was taught that the proper usage to call black people was "African American", however I learned that some did not like to be called that and in turn I have had some say they want to be called "Brown", and some got offended by that and wanted to be called "Black" and then again some got offended by that as well. I have tried to put my own feelings concerning black people to rest and by being confused about that just refueled it a little back to square one. With the whites it really doesn't matter...if one has a dark tan their still white and if one is very pale their still white. Another thing I can't stand is the so called english that they use that I can't understand...it doesn't matter if I'm on the east coast, west coast, north or south...it's the same to most of them. I could see if the accent was different as it is in the new england states or the deep south, but it's pretty much the same. Whites and Blacks go to the same school and had the same teachers and taught english the same, but the speech is different and why? Are a lot of them being non-compliant? But thats my opinion.
