Akeelah and the Bee/?

I have to write a essay about the movie. Can you guys give me a summary or a website to get a summary.

Akeelah is an eleven year old little girl that goes to a school on the wrong side of the tracks. The school doesn't have the money for books or even doors on the bathroom stalls. Akeelah does well in her classes but uses "street language" and hides her good grades to fit in with the other kids. Her teacher recommends her for the school spelling bee, since Akeelah has never missed a word on any of her spelling tests and tells her teacher she has never studied for the spelling tests.

Akeelah doesn't want to be in the spelling bee, she is worried that people will be watching her and she will be labeled more of a "freak" than she already is. However, when she goes home, we realize that Akeelah loves to spell words and in fact has an entire notebook filled with words she has learned along the way.

Akeelah has a difficult home life, an overworked mother who means well, but is not around much and is angry at life and being on her own to raise the children. Akeelah's oldest brother is in the military (airforce, I believe) and working his way through college. He is a good guy. Her other older brother is a thug wanna-be, hanging out with the wrong crowd and basically does everything his momma says he shouldn't do. Akeelah also has an older sister that has a baby and no baby's daddy in the picture.

Akeelah's father died when she was younger and she was quite close to him. He inspires her to participate in the bee (he liked words). Also, her principle helps to persuade her into being in the bee.

Akeelah wins the school bee and goes on from there to win the whole she-bang. (Sorry, I ran out of time-- hope that helps!)

It is about an African American girl from the ghetto named Akeelah. She plays dumb in school because it's not cool to be smart, in which she is. She really is a good speller and enters the school spelling bee in which the principals long time friend is impressed by her and happens to be an ex-spelling bee champion coach. He tests her and see's potential in her and she ends up making it to the top Scripps National Spelling Bee. It's really a great story.
