No, buy him something else. Try to sell the jacket by putting a small ad in a local free publication (we've got lots of them here in the U.S. don't know if it's the same in the UK).

Had you thought about asking what he wanted before buying? Say it to your mum-in-law and see what she says about it. The shop will normally give a credit note for goods that are returned but not faulty. You can explain that is is an unwanted gift, rather than trying to sell it and not getting the full value of it. Or have it lying about the place as no one else is the same size!! Try the shop again and play the goodwill act especially coming up to Christmas, shops want your custom and will do anything to get you to buy from them. Credit notes mean your money is still in their store!!

Why can't you return the jacket.. Most stores will take unwanted gifts from November - January back..
If you can't return it just give it too him, he should be grateful for what you have brought.. I would not go out and buy something else..

personally, if you believe that comment was a serious notion, then you should buy another gift. Try to sell it out or donate it to some foundation. IF he's nice enough, he'll acccept the other gift. If he knew about that suede jacket, he'd probably be really happy that you considered what he likes and wants and that you were nice neough to donate it to the needy.

undesirable presents or perhaps stuff which you do not use anymore could be donated to those who can use it. this could incorporate can products, toys, books, fixtures and garments. we would desire to take a step back and get exhilaration from what we do have and be life like. If each and each human beings can help one individual the year no count if to donate a toy, some time or do something to assist people who're in choose this international could be a greater robust place. Donate the presents you do not choose. Make somebody smile! that's what I do.

Hmm. I'd buy him something else and put the jacket on ebay.
I get st presents from my brother every year, without fail... Theres nothing worse than having something you didn't want in the 1st place. He never asks me what I want, but gets me tacky aftershave most years.
Stoopid me always buy him something decent.... Not this year!
