Not true- look at Bobobo Bo BoBobo!! Of course most anime is made in Japan where there aren't many black people, and the shows kind of reflect a Japanese perpective. But Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are good examples of how diverse things are. Dragonball Z as well. Even going back 25 years, Claudia from Robotech/Macross was black, and she was a major character.
Of course in American animated shows (Justice League, Teen Titans, Futurama, The Simpsons, South Park, etc) there are plenty...
By the way, I'm pretty sure Pedro from Excel Saga is Hispanic :)

Anime does feature black people or people from other countries. You write what you know, you know? There isn't alot of black people in Japan, and it's not a good idea to make a cultural mistake or portray based on stereotypes.
Tenjou Tenge has a black character, if I remember closely. Pedro from Excel Saga anime is also black.

Not necessarily true. There is an anime called Cowboy Bebop that I have seen black characters before. But they are bit characters, meaning they didn't play a large part in the series

No, it's completely false. There are a lot of anime with black characters in it. Check out the new anime with a black main character in "Afro Samurai" (on Spike TV). Samuel L. Jackson is actually the voice over on the main character.

It is wrong. Prince of Tennis shows black people as well as Exel Saga. Alice 19th is a manga that has a black person in it.
I get where peopl would make this assumption. There aren't many black people in Japan, so not many manga and anime creators put black people in their stories. However, some do. There aren't many mangas and animes that feature black people, but there are some that do.

no it's not true one good Example is Eureka Seven. the character's of Matthieu and Hilda are both black.
as you can see here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_Eureka_Seven
there have been black character's shown in the first drangon ball shows. you should for show's like Saber rider and the star sher riffs and the robotech and macros plus and galaxcy Rangers animes . I know they have shown black people there.
but they weren't main characters. the reason is that not that many of the creators have mat that many black people but there are alot of animes that have shown them. the gundam multvers series is one good Example where they have shown black people. and other animes as well but they aren't on the popular side of thing yet. or they are in limted areas. UI hope that answers your question.

Well they do show them, but my only problem is that they make them too dark. I mean, were not that damn dark skinned...most of us. Anyway, it is still nice too see black people in anime. But there is this one show when these people were in New York and all they showed is white people. Do you know how many black people live in New York? So how come they wernt in the show? I dont get it.
