All I did was tell her she should take cooking lessons. You'd think she would appreciate the good advise.

Seems to me that your wife was probably just having a bad day. Offer to take her out to dinner at a really good restaurant. After you finish, say "see hon if you took cooking lessons we'd eat like this every day". She'll see that you are just trying to help.

Get use to having frozen meals for a long time! I wouldn't cook for you if you told me that! Good advice? You just ruined everything between you and your wife and respect. Next will be the sex, it too will be suffered! Kill a woman ego, you kill anything postive in your relationship. The next time if she ever cook, make, clean or anything for you, show some real appriatetion for it or just suffer the conquences of downfall of your marriage!
You have to restore the damage you done! If you really want her to take cooking lessons, then take her to professional place to learn how to cook, and watch out, she will become a professional in cooking, and the best restuarants and probably want need you no more, since you can't meet any of her basic needs. Provider, Protection and Etc. You did not protect her when you emotional abuse your wife! I hope she will see that you are clueless how to love your wife as God saids! And that she will build her walls to protect herself from any more damage that you have done already!

LOL, doesn't every man know that you don't insult a woman's cooking.. Maybe a more gentle way of putting would of maybe to signed her up for cooking classes as a present. Or maybe suggest that the 2 of you take the class together so that you can find something to do together. LOL good luck with this one,

I can already see where this went wrong. You never tell a woman she is a bad cook. Just give her time and she will become a good cook. Maybe suggest some meals you'd like and she can find a recipe for it.

If you want to be in the female business you have to be tactful.A better way to broach this subject is.Lets register together at the community college and learn a few cooking tips.I would really love to learn how to cook some of your favorite meals. If you had done this, you'll still be getting some and she will not be elbowing you at night.

It probably was how you said it. If she had worked on cooking dinner for you all night and served it, than instead of saying any thanks you told her "Damn woman, you need cooking lessons" than its because you were rude. If you had suggested it in a fun-experience kind of way, out at the grocery store and said "Hey! What do you think if we took a cooking class together? That'd be fun yea?" than she shouldn't be mad. But I have a feeling you were being an insensitive a*s.

When she has a problem with you , do you appreciate her advice ?? It's all a matter of being tactful. I'm a woman l know these things !! Think about it , how did you tell her ?? Perhaps she was doing her best and you hurt her feelings . Sometimes you need to stop and think before you say !! After all us women have to do that with you guys on a regular basis.

Its part of the job description.

Wife = be grouchy = comfort eat = get fat = do you think I'm fat = tears = eat more = he doesn't love me any more = comfort eat some more = wear leggings (Oh my gaud!) = you really do think I'm fat, don't you = tears = slimming class = tears = he thinks I can't cook = phone call to friend = try and relive lost youth = another phone call to friend = 'And then he said...' = deny sex.

Of course the clever way is to start cooking lessons yourself. And then watch how fast she moves when you tell her that the other people in the class are 30 year old single women.

If she cooks so bad why don't you cook for your self. It is real bad when a husband tells a wife that she needs lessons to cook, maybe you are just a pickey eater.

I would be pissed too, are you worth taking cooking lessond for? maybe you could have both taken cooking lessons as a couple and cook for her once in a while.
