I am starting to look around for colleges. I would like to be a writer. What are some of the better Colleges or that.. The things I would like to do is be a reporter and if that dosen't work out a author. I like writing poems and short stories. Sometimes short scripts.

While I don't know much about the schools reputation for the liberal arts in general or writing in particular, Virginia Tech in Blacksburg must have something good to offer. Nikki Giovanni, the poet, is a professor there. I did not attend but my husband did. We lived there for 5 years or so. It was the most beautiful place I have ever lived. The campus is what you expect a college to look like.

-I used that website senior year of high school during the big college search and it helped me search through colleges based on specific information(Such as Majors, Cost, Location, and Scholastic Rank) I was looking for. Not only was that a huge help, but it also has scholarships, student loans, and college aids you can apply for right there on the website. I'd highly recommend it.

You might check out Boston University. I got my M.A. there. They have an undergraduate and graduate creative writing program and a communications department. They seem to have a lot of scholarships, or used to. I basically got my M.A. free.

I can't tell you the name of any schools off the top of my head. Princeton Review is a good site to use for this type of research.
