There are many possible reasons, a lack of communication between both marriage mates, insecurity. If its with a younger woman it could be a possible symptom of a mid life crisis.
However upsetting this is for anyone who would ever suffer something like this, the family can remain united and get back to where they were.
Nothing in life that's worth having comes easy. Everything worth having requires a fight to the bitter end.

Maybe he is just wanting something new. If he would try something new with his wife, everything would be fine. There are so many sexual things to do, you can never run out unless you have a weak imagination. You can always try new positions, create your own porn, watch porn, or even role play, dress up in lingerie. If you are wanting something different, suggest this to your wife, don't just go and cheat. Marriage is about sticking together.

Be it a man that cheats, or a woman that cheats, there's something lacking in the relationship, or it just could be that the spouse has accused the other so many times, the other is thinking why not....I'm getting blamed for it anyways!....

HIS EGO! Get respect for your self! He must stop cheating and it must be over with, and don't make your self available for him!
If he wants you, then give hime rules to go abide! If he wants the other woman, let him out of the door and forget him! Move on, go through divorce recovery steps, and reach out support, and date after the divorce! No divorce, then get that book, Love must be tough by James Dobson, and get some ideas how to deal what your going through. TAke very good of your self, and give your self some time to healed.
For the sex, there are toys to meet your own needs!

Some men like the thrill of the chase. Someone new feeds their ego. Being with your wife is expected. There is no challenge. Someone else is forbidden. That makes it exciting. It's wrong- no doubt. But, still, some people think that way.

sex is not the only reason that people cheat other things are missing and they go to the other person and thats the end result at times but it's not always about sex

Sometimes he can't get the same sex at home. Sometimes men no longer find their wives attractive physically,emotionally, and/ or mentally. Sometimes men feel like they need to be with someone who will make them feel good about themselves and make them feel more like a man, Sometimes me feel like their getting some kid of revenge for something thier wives did or didn't do. Sometimes men are just dogs and can't keep it in their pants- take your pick and good luck

He has an ego problem. Some men are good looking enough that women find it hard not to through themselves at the man. The ego-maniac man can not say no. He has no sence of commitment or loyalty. He can lie as easily as he breathes. He is not worth keeping. His ego will really deflate whey he finds out you are kicking him to the curb, for good.
