How can I buy a Verizon cell phone as a gift for my boyfriend for his birthday, when I am not a Verizon user and he is? I am not going to sign up for a new plan, I just want to get him a new phone, thoughtfully picked out by me, for his birthday. It seems like I can't get him a new one without signing up for a plan. His phone right now sucks! How do I do this??? Help! His birthday is in the beginning of December!

I'm pretty sure you can purchase the phone and have him activate it when you give it to him,its just that you get rebates ans dicounts when you activate the phone inside of the store. Your boyfriend may have a contract with his current phone company ,so maybe its a good thing that you don' tactivate it. You should also think about a pre-paid phone, a Boost Mobile phone, those are very popular.

Have you told the Verizon people that it is a gift for an existing customer? Seems like they would like to sell you the phone and possibly HIM a new plan.....

Hi there. Yeah you can buy one, I'd suggest looking online. Two things you have to consider 1st wether your going to buy it with a contract or without... Id suggest without as a pay as you go scheme. Then you need to figgure out what sort of handset to get. If its pay as you go, then you need to get a phone that is compatable with it.

Hope this helps!
