They always end up in a tight ball so the center doesnt get dry.

I mean, obviously I just keep opening the door, pulling everything out, and putting it back in every fifteen minutes or so.. but is there something better?

Try throwing in a couple of tennis balls with the load. Seriously.

After the washer, I half heartedly shake out the tangled mess before putting it in the dryer..(so every piece is separate again then wad it up when I put it in dryer.. can't tangle as much if it's starting out as a loose ball, onto itself. That's the best I do, but when it's done drying, I try to take it out immediately and shake it out over the bannister. Then fold it up from up there. It folds easier hang down and loose and I don't get so frustrated with it because it's a little tangled up. Anything that is still damp, I remove anything that is dry and put back in the rest and re-dry it AFTER I cleaned out the lint trap (that better have been empty to begin with!)

Dryer Balls... 2 for under $10.00 at Walmart. Plus your clothes will dry faster and have less wrinkles.

As crazy as it may sound, try tennis balls. For sheets and blankets. It makes them fluffy and they won't knot up.
