magical aromatherapy is using essential oils for magical purposes, such as dressings for candle magic, triggers for ritual, annointing oils as a ritual of purification or as a means to contact specific dieties using smells. Scott cunningham has a little paperback book about it. I read about 10 years ago, it was a quick light read. Essential oils contain the properties of the plants they are extracted from but in a higher potency, so it is used much in the same way magical herbalism is used. In this book, if i remember correctly there are several recipes and tables of correspondences, what oils are best for what specific purpose, or what phase of the moon, etc.

The last answer has it right. The link she provides is exactly what i would recommend too- Scott Cunningham has that book which details the basics. Do you plan on utilizing formulas or a newbie to this? I ask because you need to be careful with certain oils, wear a mask if you experiment. There's nothing wrong with magickal aromatherapy at all; I should know I am a certified aromatherapeutic. Please be careful in your desires when you do experiment; oils go a very long way and just a little is best for maxiumum effect. Good luck in your decisions.
