At first it starting slipping out of gear when I was driving, and now I turn the car on and when I try to shift it inot gear it just idles and will not catch. No drive, reverse etc. sometimes just revs. Checked fluid level and it is ok. Help please.

Is the fluid red or black?

That pretty much means that the transmission is finished. Will need that one rebuilt or replaced with another. Or maybe even get a newer or better car. I assume this one isn't gonna be worth that much. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

You might have a bad transmission and if your car is manul you might need a new clutch.
