a brilliant device: it's bigger than most other handhelds but i feel it makes up for that with a sheer size of the (fantastically sharp) screen.
the range of games is still not great, i'm still waiting for a truly great rpg (dungeon seige looks promising) but when developers become more comfortable and creative you will see an increasing amount of innovation, leading to much longer, more detailed games.
the psp will also have quite a bit of connectivity with the ps3 as well, so that could be good.
with a locationfree base station you can watch streaming tv and you'll soon be able to get an attachable camera for it, while wifi means i can use it to do my online banking in the garden. then i can plug in my headset and play SOCOM with people all over europe, chatting with people while we're fighting.
i would say if you spend alot of time out of the house get one, but if not stick to the ps2 or 3 if you can get one.

There arent many but there are some nice games on the psp that are exclusive. And many more that have been ported to the PSP.
I'll give you some hints about what you can do.
1. WideScreen Gaming.
2. Best handheld graphics.
3. WideScreen Movies.
4. Music.
5. Comics.
6. E-Books.
7. Web Browser + Wireless 802.11b internet.
and last and best
8 . HOMEBREW!

good, there's quite a few exclusive games and the games ported from other consoles have been modified to be perfect for pick-up-and-play style gaming. it's an mp3 and mp4 player aswell, so you can throw away your ipod and new video ipod. i haven't taken it away on a holiday but if you want to then i suppose it would work well; and it's good for car/train journeys. i wouldn't play it on a bus or underground though, it would make you look silly. the movies are useless, no point. i'd reccommend it if you think you'll get some good use out of it
