No. Human history is defined by violence.

There has never been a time on this earth when there was no war, no fighting or total peace. Who has been responsible for voting has absolutely nothing what-so-ever to do with peace on earth. There may come a time in the far far distant future when the people who vote, do so sensibly and ensure they put the right people into power, Before that, the very nature of the human being has to change, we are a basically violent quick tempered selfish greedy race, whilst we are like this how can we ever expect peace., it is hardly fair to blame the women for the ills of the world.

Point 1 - The more freedom women have in a country, the more successful that country is economically and socially. FACT

Point 2 - Never think that throughout history basically women have had it bad, and men have been in power and had it good. Who would you rather be:
(a) the woman inside next to the fire looking after the kids, baking, and cleaning,
or
(b) the man doing a 7am to 7pm shift down a coal mine day in day out for 45 years? Look around at the cars, houses, flats, and office blocks - who built them?

Before women got the right to vote in our country, there was the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican/American War, the French and Indian War, the Civil War, World War I, and various battles like the Battle of Little Bighorn. We also did a variety of nasty things to various ethnic groups like the Native Americans (smallpox blankets, anyone?) and the blacks (slavery, lynchmobs). We weren't very nice to the insane or to criminals, and we beat children in schools. I don't know that I'd refer to _any_ period of human history as particularly peaceful.

It's men who break the peace, not women. Since women were permitted to vote, they should have had some influence on men's violence, but it's an uphill struggle.

No. Peace has nothing to do with women voting. War and conflict have everything to do with men's (and sometimes women's) need for power and control.

Millicent Fawcett believed in peaceful protest. She felt that any violence or trouble would persuade men that women could not be trusted to have the right to vote. Her game plan was patience and logical arguments. Fawcett argued that women could hold responsible posts in society such as sitting on school boards - but could not be trusted to vote; she argued that if parliament made laws and if women had to obey those laws, then women should be part of the process of making those laws; she argued that as women had to pay taxes as men, they should have the same rights as men and one of her most powerful arguments was that wealthy mistresses of large manors and estates employed gardeners, workmen and labourers who could vote........but the women could not regardless of their wealth.....

Its no surprise that the first states in the USA which allowed women to vote, were real frontier states, where women carried the gun.

Moral of story - don't tell a women she aint equal or doesnt have right to vote when she's packing a Colt.

How do I answer this? When only men voted peace filled the air. The economy was flush with cash and everyone was happy and healthy. Then the dreaded women's vote came along and all was lost. Death and destruction ensued. Disease spread.

Peaceful times? I don't know what you mean.
