it seems like ppl are very upset about steryotyping. BUT if somebody came up to me and was like, "YOURE A LOSER CAUSE YOUR STRAIGHT!" or like ,"YOUR A LOSER CAUSE YOUR WHITE! or "YOUR A LOSER CAUSE YOU LIVE IN THE SOUTH!" i would not really be upset at all. i am very happy to be what i am, a white straight southern girl.

it seems like the only ppl who would be offended would be the ppl insecure about themselves, and/or are jealous of something better.

am i right???

I think people also feel offended when they hear he same stereotyping over and over again. When you hear it once or twice, you can ignore it. When you hear it all the time it gets on your nerves a lot more.

If something doesn't happen to you every day you will not complain. But no one can take it 24-7 being told who they're or what they're supposed to be. Especially from someone who knows squat about you even if they knew you after a while you will tell them to shut up. Because you know who you are you don't need to be reminded every second of the day. You want to life live to and not listen to other people their non-sense every second of the day, you have better things to do. And anyway people don't care that much about is being said or has been said, I think it is more about the tone. Because I can say the nicest things to you but with a tone that tells you I hate you tell will you like that 24-7. I don't think you will like that. Hope I gave you some insight and the right kind as well. Success bye.

good for you liz if you meet people from other places dont worry you will be surprised at the attitude you get-- whites here in tx seem to act entitled, if they tried the same behavior in say cali you would be met with a totally differt attitude-white isnt special everywhere just the south

I would only be upset because that person was trying to make fun of me. I would be upset, but try to defend myself. I am also a proud straight southen gal. If someone wants to make fun of me, just let them. I'll give them a chewing out.

i agree, it would'nt be upsetting.
especially if you dont care about the person who's saying it.
now, if its someone like a parent who tells you "you're stupid" or "you're never going to do anything right" it will get to you. but, if its some random person on the street, you might just keep walking while in your mind you're thinking "how naive,"
i think it all depends on who the person who says it is.. and what position/value they hold in your life.
