My husband and i had unprotected sex Nov. 6, 11, 15...after a week from the first time, i got really bloated and began to get pains and cramps in my belly. My breast seemed larger, and the blue veins on my breast were more prominent, like you could see them from 10 ft away. I took 2 tests a week after the second time we had unprotect sex and they were both negative. I got my period Nov 23, and i am more bloated than usual and my breast are looking a bit swollen...could i still be pregnant?? When should i test...a day or a week or how many days after my period ends?

You can and should test again to be sure. You should be testing on approximately day 33-35 past your last period. This will give the fertilized egg time to make the trip to your uterus to implant and the build up of a hormone known as HCG time to buildup. The Nov 23rd date is important, but is the time around the 6th and 11th roughly 2 weeks past your last period. (I think the 15th may be too late from my way of thinking.) Another question to ask yourself is "Other than the symptoms I'm having, is the period I'm having now behaving like my usual.

The bleeding your having may be attributable to either a normal cycle or possibly implantation of the embryo. Many women have mistaken the bleeding that can accompany implantation for a period. No matter what it sounds like, some hormones have come into play and it may just be a normal cycle with exaggerated symptoms.

The only sure way is to test. And if your not confident with a urine dip then schedule a visit with your PCP for a blood draw to test for HCG levels in the blood.

it is very possible to be pregnant after already starting your period. I work in a hospital and see this situation all the time. It is a very common thing to recieve false negatives when using at home pregnancy tests. The period tricks the body into thinking that it isn't pregnant while in fact it may be. It even tricks the little pregnancy tests. As soon as your period is over, I would suggest seeing your health care provider for a professional test. Especially with the signs that you are showing. Hope I have atleast been a little bit of help. Best of luck.

Yes, both false negatives and periods ( not actually true periods) can stil happen if you are pregnant. But eventually the pregnancy hormone will show up on the test. You could test both now and in a week, and if its still negative, see a doctor about doing a blood test.
