Liberals believe society is unfair to poor and disadvantaged people. But liberals are actually good for the economy too, because they don't get involved in as many wars. Wars, and indirect costs of wars, are a big drain on our tax dollars, and on the health of our economy.
Some of the wealthiest, most successful business people are liberals, because they feel guilty about their success, or in many cases because they were already liberals before they became successful.
Liberals have a reputation of being in favor of a nanny state. But reality contradicts that. Consider which party spends the most money fighting illegal drugs, online gambling, porn, etc. Those are billion dollar fights, and are very important to the religious right. So that's where the ultimate nanny state is. Liberals just want justice for the poor and disadvantaged, because they perceive a lack of justice for them.
Nobody's really right. Everybody has an opinion. All those opinions, when mixed together, just add up to a lot of hot air.
True freedom won't be found in any political party.

That is a fraction of a liberal stance. Here is a comparison that may help you.
The Rep's have the GOP, and the "Good Old Boys club" who's only addenda is to help the rich get richer. Rep's used to be fiscally Conservative.
SO, its one sad day in this country when the Democratic party is now the fiscally responsible group!
The Dem's support The Working Class of our great nation. When we sign up to send people to fight a war, we fully expect to send our own children; we fight nobel causes. Our focus is on a bigger scale than an exclusive group of Americans who care little, if at all, about how the laws affect the average citizen or the World.
Is that too much for you to wrap your head around?

Liberal, according to its etymology, refers to someone who welcomes constructive change as a way of solving problems. It has also become almost synonymous with moderate to indicate someone who favours the tendency to solve social problems through government action, provided no drastic alteration in the social structure is contemplated. In Britain, it appears in the name of the MODERATE party, midway between right & left: Conservative, Liberal & Labour. Unfortunately, "Liberal" and "Leftist" are labels used in the pejorative by those who have minor knowledge of politics.
Your question has no valid premise. Thus, it cannot be answered rationally. However, I'm quite certain MANY are chomping at the bit to add their illogical & uninformed answers. C'est la vie.

Actually they are born that way.
Being Blue is normal Red is a birth defect caused by the mother eating to much red meat during her pregnancy
This is why prosperity causes a right leaning snowball affect. As they develop the diet improves then children are born with longer ring fingers. (The physical manifestation of a high protein prepartum diet) The society becomes violently Red and the Empire Falls repeating the cycle.
Go big Red Go

Liberals (like myself) tend to try their best to help others. Some of us endorse "hand outs" far too often (I will admit that). However we also advocate Peace as we typically do not like to see people killed for unjust reasons. This goes for the innocent lives lost in war, and our soldiers lives.

Liberals are called liberals because they are liberal on government. Government programs for this, government programs for that, all paid for by the tax payers.
Conservatives favor conserving government spending and keeping taxes low. It is a sad thing that many republican conservatives do not stick to the party platforms and are becoming indistinguishable from democrats these days.

No, that is a socialist point of view. By liberalism - in a trivial way of speaking - you should understand: "everyone for himself".

They think they're helping poor people. I know some and they think welfare is good because it helps working families and their reasoning clouds them from the facts.
