To me, you are a person first. The color of your skin wouldn't even be in my top-ten list of important things about you, unless YOU put it there. Of all the racists I've known (and that's quite a few), the overwhelming majority have been black. I'm not saying all blacks, or even most, are racists; I'm just telling you my experience.
By the way, weren't you inviting people to "paint us all with one brush" when you asked three questions that all started with, "Do you think we. . .?"

I think that they run a lower chance of getting skin cancer than I do because of the extra pigmentation.
Its possible that on AVERAGE they are bigger in some places but I'm not gonna do measurements to find out. Yuck, sorry but I don';t swing that way. If this is true I have NO idea if that AVERAGE applies equally to say people from Nigeria and ones in say Ethiopia.
As for all the other stuff? Well, I think that in different situations, roles can be reversed. I've met blacks I strongly respect none the less and some i don't. I try to take individuals at face value.

I think it's a negative part of human nature to only remember the bad examples of "groups." Foreigners always remember the rude, loud American tourists. Americans always recall the rude French.
So while most black people are good, decent people, in my experience, certain urban styles, attitudes and body language do come across as potentially threatening or dangerous to people who aren't used to them. The three black guys in suits on the subway blend into the crowd; its the one with the do-rag, loud iPod and the blank stare that seems dangerous.
It's an unfortunate way to limit one's perspectives, and it can be overcome - with effort. But one has to see the walls before one can climb out of boxes, and I think a negative side to PCism is that it has become uncomfortable to even discuss the parameters.

I think black people in general are no different than whites, but just with every culture, there are a few who may give others a "bad name". Just like not all white people are bad dancers and bad at sports. It's perspective and the way you're raised. Personally, it's not an issue to me. I live in a very black city, and deal every day with people of all races. We are the same.

that's a good question and you are brave to ask people to tell you their thoughts. I am not an American, I live in SAmerica and we do have a lot of prejudice here against black people EVEN THOUGH we say we don't, what I think this is BS. You know, it is not people's fault that they think like this all the time. We were born and raised in a culture telling us bad jokes about black people. I think this is wrong. God created all of us, black and white, yellow or whatever and this is purely something that men themselves brought up. There are MANY MANY white people who don't deserve to be on this world because they are so evil, so bad, but as people seem to focus always on what movies and television show, they think black people are worse than we are. It is like, for example, when people focus only on the BAD stuff in the world. THere are also good stuff, but they prefer to enhance the bad ones. People tend to be very negative. Nowadays there are still good news on TV and newspaper, but people in general say there are only bad news, that this world existing anymore, so I think it is very wrong do be prejudice. Maybe because you seem to be the minority and have to bare all this kind of BS. Good luck.

I think of people more as individuals than as colours. The black people I've met are all different from each other. You can make some generalizations about culture, but there are always lots of exceptions.
As a culture, I find black people less inhibited than "white" people are supposed to be, and I find that refreshing.

I dont think the issue is whether a person is black or white or what ever, we are primarily human beings black or white doesnt mean anything its just our culture that makes us what we are. there are good black people and bad ones just as they are bad whites and good ones.
I think generalisations are bad and it is good to interact with people based on who they are.
I also feel that black people over the centuries are described negatively because people dont find black skin attractive, and this constant negative reaction makes alot of them behave in negative ways.
The important thing is that im human, im alive , I have aspirations and dreams and pains .my humanity should not be discounted because im black.
and I defintiely refuse to feel shame or be less than my self because im black .
as a matter of fact Im actually quite proud to be black and I think we are fun people.

What I think about black people depends upon the individual.
I know black people who are strong successful people, some who are not, some who would give the shirt off their back, and some who are huge jerks.
Just the same as every other group of people.

There are uncomfortable statistical realities having to do with "black people" as a group. These realities are not something it is wise for a person to ignore. However, it's important to judge people on themselves and not their group. I know many fine people who are black. All of them are just like me in intelligence, character, values etc. However, black people as a general group are most definitely not like them. These people are exceptional. They belong to me and mine and not to the black community. Truth be told, they are mostly not welcome in those communities, which says a hell of alot.

I honestly think that black people, like whites, asians etc etc, have good people and they have bad people. I guess it's what makes the world what it is. Unfortunately there is a lot of racism about still and I think there always will be while we have small-minded people (of any colour and creed) living amongst us.
