How can I get a checking account if I've been reported to chexsystems?

I had a bank account that overdrafted without my knowledge and I had no way to pay it back, when I go to start another 6 months later no one will let me because of this chexsystems stuff. I need a checking account, what can I do?

It happened to me too. Ask around. Call several banks. One of them is bound to let you open an account. It's the branch managers' call. Sometimes. After some time passes you shouldn't have a problem. Besides, lots of people go through life without a checking account. You can open a savings account. After you've had an account with a bank for a while they're bound to be more receptive to letting you open a checking account. You can pay your bills in person with cash or use money orders. This isn't the end of the world.

You'll need to pay off the old debt! Pay the debt and contact the financial institution and have them update the information at Chexsystems (they can do this online or by fax). Once the record has been updated it will still be there but at least it will show that the debt has been paid. Pay off whatever you owe to chexsystems. Most major banks use this system to screen potential clients, and until it is paid off, you will have trouble opening a checking account with most major banks. Why are people always looking for a way to get out of paying their bills? Just pay what you owe!
