Not really. Sure Oprah gives people money and donates to charities. She probably uses it as a write off on her taxes like everyone else. She talks about "pinching" you pennies for other people, yet she spends a million dollars on her own birthday party. Don't get me wrong she is an amazing business woman. You have to be to become a self made billion-Arie. I just think that most of what she does is for publicity. I just don't see how you can make such a big deal about helping people who are less fortunate and still own several houses with more bedrooms that a person could ever need. Ok, you have worked hard all of your life and now you want a million dollar house. But a million dollar house isn't good enough for Oprah, she has to spend another million to completely renovate it. Did anyone see her road trip with Gale. I have never seen a woman b**** so much in my life. Nothing was ever good enough for her. "The car is too small, I'm bored, I don't like this, I don't like that!" It's like get off your high horse already!

YES!Shes helped all these peoples lives.When she was younger she used to be abused by her mother,her dad worked her like a slave,she ran away from home,and she still is very sucsessful.Not just the money but everything else.She gives her money to people who really need it.I saw in an episode she gave a single mom of 13(some were neices and nephews)and she bought her a new house with her own money.She was also the 1st african american millionare.People always ask "If she loves kids so much then why doesnt she have any?"HELLO!She is to busy and she knows she would not have time to take care of them and she'd always be gone,but if she had kids,i bet she would take great care of them.So everyone,stop saying bad things about oprah,shes made a difference in a lot of peoples lives.

I am not obsessed with Oprah the way some people can be, but she is a very smart woman and she is one of the worlds greatest philanthropists.

No. I think Oprah is fine, but I think she is overrated. People cannot think for themselves and will buy any book she recommends. I think there are tons of great people out there but Oprah is just overexposed.
