The President & First Lady have Secret Service protection for the rest of their lives if they want to keep it. Towards the end of his life, Richard Nixon turned down the protection.

True.I had the pleasure of meeting ex-President Clinton in Paris a few years ago.He was travelling on a commercial flight to England and had 6 agents travelling with him.

they do have secret servive, they decide if they want it after their presidency, if they decide not to then they dont have any secret service
