First off, an IQ of 115 is about average. You are about 1 standard deviation above the mean. I am not going to tell you my score like others, but it is in my profile and it was done by an child physcologist. In retrospect, you are more intelligant than most, but not the brightest off all. An IQ above 140 is gifted. The misconception that people with IQ's above 140 are genius is only because they are so much more intelligant than the mass of the population. Genius is learned, and geni are made, not born.
If someone has an IQ of 178, it is not that different from someone with an IQ of 164. Once you reach a certain mental level, everyone is at about the same area. There will always be extreme ends of the so called, genius spectrum, but the majority of profoundly gifted people are at about the same level. This by no means is saying they have the same talents, opinions, or interests. Regardless, 115 is good. Hopefully you will use your gifts well. Questions that come to mind for me at this time are, is this your deviation IQ? How old are you? What is your ratio IQ?
Was this test taken online? Online tests are unreliable. International High IQ Society's IQ test is the main accurate test, though it is only meant to give you a range of your IQ. All other tests online should be deemed uncredible.

I did extensive research into IQ when I was in grad school. Basically, it boils down to this. IQ does two things. It separates people into average, college educated and below average intelligence pretty well (its fairly worthless for detecting retardation however which is why it is no longer used for that). It also detects diffuse brain injury pretty well. Your IQ score does not change much each time it is tested. It's fairly stable. However, if you sustain a brain injury, it goes down. Change in IQ score is a fairly reliable indicator that diffuse brain injury has, in fact, taken place. This would not normally be very helpful except there are other tests that can estimate your IQ fairly accurately and are not effected by diffuse brain injury. If you score normal on the NART-r, for example but below average on IQ, after hitting your head, that is a strong indicator of diffuse brain injury.
Other than these two things, IQ basically means nothing. There is no difference in ability between a high and an ultra-high IQ test score is what I am getting at. Intelligence may or may not be a quantifiable variable but IQ is not. 135 and 115 are equivalent IQ scores while 115 and 100 are not.
A score of 115 is neither good nor bad. It does however, identify you as someone most likely who has either gone to college or will go to college.

It's hard to know how to classify it, as each test puts forth it's own classification system. The breakdown depends on what 'average' is for this test. As far as you know, there haven't been any statistics done at all, thus the result of 115 doesn't mean anything.
