It is always in the bathroom or the kitchen. It is rather big, it's about 2-3 inches in height. It is not a grasshopper or a cricket.

They look like some kind of spider but I never heard of a jumping spider. My husband says there is no such thing as jumping spiders....Well......I will start calling them cave crickets then. We see them every now and then too by the bathroom or in the kitchen. We don' t see them all the time thank goodness!.

so, who said it wasn't a spider? those adorable arachnids do more than just scurry across floors, walls, whatever. there are jumping spiders , too. spots? sure & some have stripes and extensions that looks hairy. in certain parts of the southern us, there is a spider called a wolf spider, it's rather large & looks to be in the taranchula family. like the taranchula, it's basically harmless unless annoyed. your little brown, spotty, jumpy friend seems not to be a bother, isn't costing any money in staying & might just be doing you a favor - many spiders eat those pesky other insects and especially keep roaches & ants at bay. name him/her, make room for our friend & realize there are worse things in life (to be concerned).
