I am very grateful for the gifts. I received more than one for some items. My son outgrew most of the preemie clothes. Babies do grow faster than you think. I still have preemie clothes with the tags on them. It is not that I don't want these things, it is some I have no use and some I have more than one. Like I have 3 baby carriers, two strollers, too many ventaire bottles. Three baby warmers, 8 sets of hooded towels so on and so forth

You just get to know brands and where they are. For example Carter's and Osh Kosh can be returned to Babies R Us, George Kids and Kid Connection (or baby connection, girl connection, etc) are Wal-mart, Little Tykes and Circo are Target. Just look at the brand of clothing and then go to a few stores and see where things are. Target won't let you return anything without a receipt, though. Most other places will give you in-store credit.
When it comes to non-clothing items, usually the same item is carried at multiple stores. I would try Babies R Us first. They have most everything. If you guess wrong the worst thing that will happen is that they will tell you they won't take it back. Burlington Coat Factory is another good one for non-clothing items.
If you can't return things, try selling them on e-bay or through online classifieds like Craigslist or take them to a children's resale store like Kid to Kid or Once Upon a Child.
Don't feel guilty about taking stuff back that you can't use. It's really okay to get what you really want and need.

Since you're going to get a gift card regardless of where you go, you could try Toys R Us or Babies R Us, Wal-Mart, or Target. Depending on the area you live in, there may be speciality stores that you could try too. If all else fails you could be honest with the person who bought the gift and politely tell them you want want to exchange it or fib and say you have family that is expecting and would like to get the gift for them as well and ask where they got it. Remember though, that the gifts you are returning may be asked about by the preson who bought it. If you feel that this could happen than you should be honest and ask where they bought it and explaine why you feel the need to return it or exchange it. If you do exchange it and it's practical take pictures of it being used by the baby and send them to the pereson. Tell them that the new item is loved just as much as the first but this is of more use to you. A lot of times friends that have much older children or none at all, don't have any idea what new mother's want, in most case if you explain you won't offend them. Good luck and hope this helps.

nicely usually the "norm" presents that human beings provide at toddler showers are what the human beings will particularly choose. in case you pick to purchase something completely diverse, try determining to purchase greater advantageous youngster outfits(in case you recognize if it somewhat is a infant) That way she wont have too many toddler outfits. or perhaps you may make a toddler spa kit with toddler creams and creams and oils and stuff? i don't understand, be inventive! actually, i'm hoping i'm getting a ton of diapers and wipes. boring, yet oh so useful.

well, the gifts should have the tags on them. that should give you a clue. most stores have their names on the tags. if you can figure them out, most stores will only let you return them for store credit. if anything, ask the person who got it for you where they got it, and be honest. they will appreciate the honesty a lot.
why are you returning them? wrong size, wrong sex, etc.?

you could ask the person who bought it were he/she got and say you would like to buy it for a friend and then go to that store and ask the manger if you could return it to the store and get your money back.
