Movies should go straight to DVD or VHS and stop wasting time with uncomfy theatres where it's all drafty and you have to sit with about 200 of your closest strangers, can't rewind or pause and have to pay outrageous prices for sludge-food to gum up your organs? When I wait for the DVD, I get to take it straight home and sit on my comfy couch and eat whatever I like. Also, I miss nothing because I can pause it, and if I misunderstand something, I can rewind it or put the subtitles on. Home Theatre is BETTER always.

I watch nearly a movie a day and hate theaters, but want to see the film projected. So, I bought a 106" screen and a projector with a 10 speaker surround sound system. Now I do have the best of both worlds. Home theater is BETTER always. Now we need to get the studios to understand that and start releasing High Def DVD's at the same time as the initial theatrical distribution. Then I would be truly happy.

I find comedies funnier when everyone is laughing together. Even the lame jokes. Certain movies have to be appreciated on big screen. Eg. Titanic, The Return of The King, Star Wars, Dances with Wolves...

I will never forget the time when people stood up and applauded spontaneously after The Phantom Menace. The same feeling you get watching a soccer game live. It is the collective spirit. The contagious enthusiasm.

DISAGREE! - Some movies are just made for that huge theatre showing - the music, colors, sound, etc. Not the same on your TV at home. My examples are Gone With the Wind, Titantic, King Kong (whichever one) - watch a stupid comedy or romance movie at home, but the blockbuster, epic kind of movies belong in the theatres!

Naw the movie theater it awesome...you get to hang out w/ friends, watch it on a giant screen and it makes you feel special....maybe it should be in theaters and come out on DVD/VHS at same time....also think of all the cool times you had when you were a kid/when you were younger.

i disagree!
i love going to a theter to c movies! the big screen and surround sound always makes the experience more enjoyable!
And the way i c it, if you have been okay your entire life not seeing the film, then you will be fine waiting a couple more months until you can buy it.

I'M SORRY. I DON'T AGREE! I LOVE SEEING MOVIES IN THE THEATER. SO MUCH BIGGER THAN LIFE, PLUS THE SOUND IS GREAT. I ALSO LOVE THE FEELING OF THE CROWD AND THE EXCITEMENT OF THE GROUP OF PEOPLE ALL ANTICIPATING, LAUGHING, CRYING (OR TRYING TO HIDE IT), AND JUMPING AT THE SAME TIME.
