If you're asking if it's true or not...Then it's no.
1-7 over x does not equal -6 over x2. In other words, -6 over x does not equal -6 over 2x.

Here is what the equation should look like, according to your question:
1 - 7 -6
------ = -----
x x^2
Now, you want to simplify the equation as much as possible:
1) 6 -6
---- = -----
x x^2
Simplifying done: 1 - 7 = 6 (numerator of right side of the equation)
2) 6 -6
---- = ----
1 x
Simplifying done: multiply both sides by x
3) 6x = -6
Simplifying done: multiply both sides by x...again
4) Answer: x = -1
Simplifying done: divide both sides by 6.
x = -1 is the answer.
I hope this helps

(1-7)/x=-6/x^2
=>-6/x=-6/x^2
=>x=x^2
Dividing both sides by x we get x=1
