MP3 player question?

I just bought one for my son but there is nothing on the display other then the picture of the battery. Is something wrong with the unit or is this normal? It says in the manual that it should say press M - charge, other - USB. Any advice would be helpful.

if u read the manual, there should be a pg where it talks about a reset button. u hv to use a tiny pink to reset it. that shud do it.
