Well I think any of them would be easy enough for a 12 year old to use. I have an Ipod mini and it is really easy to use but some one else in my family has a nano and they work the same. The nano is more complex as far as how it's features work. There are more features on it then an Ipod mini and so that might make it harder. But I guess it just depends on what you think.

A Shuffle is the easiest to use for any age. Of course maybe just 8 or older. And they are cheaper($60-$80)
