My favourite Altman film remains the first one I ever saw, MASH. I think I went to the movies 3 times to see it and watched it on TV again only last month.
I also loved Nashville, The Wedding, 3 Women, Gosford Park and Cookie's Fortune.
Altman was also a great producer and I really admired the films that he made with Alan Rudolph, particularly Welcome to LA.
I recently saw The Prairie Home Companion and thought it was quite a sad movie for Altman. Hisdeath has given it a greater perspective.

That's a hard one. For me it's a toss-up between "Nashville" and "Short Cuts" with "M*A*S*H" and "3 Women" as close seconds. He made so many good films. He will really be missed.

I know I've seen a lot of his stuff, but for the life of me, the only one I can think of right now is Popeye, so I have to go with that one.
Sheesh.
