Give a coupon for a day at the amusement park/ circus/ or the like. After a certain point, kids don't appreciate more toys. But a day with Grand parents at the amusement park will be remembered forever.

I wish my folks would come spend some time with my daughter.

Why not promise each one a separate afternoon w/you going somewhere like a zoo, or play-zone or park? On the day(s) involved, you could then go to get an ice-cream or something afterwards.

Spending time w/them one-on-one instead of adding to their obviously already overloaded material possessions collection might be a nice alternative.

When they're older, they may remember that day and look back upon it w/fond memories.

Just an idea...

Don't get them a present. Get them a unique card that their parents won't feel obligated to keep. One year, my son got one of those two feet tall cards. He still remembers it but we got rid of about a week after the birthday.
(This is a parent's POV.)
