The most obvious is contemporary duo Jan & Dean, whose rather wierd website is linked below. They were friends with the Beach Boys and played a number of concerts with them, plus both groups covered each other's songs.

The only original act that spring to mind is Jan and Dean. There are quite a few Beach Boys cover acts doing the rounds, Gidea Park being the best for many years. The band Magic, who were the top Queen tribute, started life as a Beach Boys tribute in the days when they weren't even called tribute acts.

When you think of it what is surf ? Chuck Berry with vocal harmonies and lyrics on holiday.

Although not a fan,Jan and Dean were the originators of this style and the beach boys earlier music is a total rip off of them. They also embraced the Hippy life in full, taking lots of drugs and dropping out.
