Wow - that's a tough question to answer without sounding racist or radical.
(especially after we went to war believeing that slavery is wrong)
Slavery has always provided a form of free labor. When you use a race that you believe is inferior you don't have to worry about cost or feeding or even the working conditions as slaves are expendable.
However once you get into that topic, you are putting a price on a human life (which is close to 2.3 billion dollars if you add the cost of the chemicals used to make up a human).

Assumption that slavery is a bad thing (and of course it is) is based on euro-centric attitude. People living in highly developed societies will strafe towards liberte-egalite-fraternite type of world. But reality is that not all societies are equally developed. In some slavery plays a traditional role. It is expected that some are subordinate to others. And It is expected by all classes in that society. Not all members of all classes see it as a god thing but generally it is perceived as natural way of things. And it is a backbone of society. Hmm....This is interesting - in developed world we have same categories of subordinates and superiors - we just call them differently. Also the living conditions of lowest ranks of our society is, relatively, not much better than that of lowest ranks in Africa. When comparing richest and poorest elements in one society and also when comparing Gross national product and part of that product that eventually is distributed to lowest class we see that there is hardly a difference between Sud-slave and Cent-European homeless guy...
We judge slavery because it gives us a sense of superiority. We judge it because we are scared to admit that we in fact our society is not that different than slave-based societies. If we accept one we must accept the other. Both are based on same principle - power to few at top, sence of security to those at middle, and ignorance about their position to those at bottom. This principle is wrong but necessary. Orvel also said: Freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strenght...he was a smart guy.
Basicaly you've chosen a strange topic to debate.

Here is a small note on Slavery in Sudan and hope it would help you in the presentation.
There has been an alarming increase in the number of reports ... of slavery, servitude, the slave trade and forced labour. The Sudanese authorities show a total lack of interest shown in the matter.
‘The government's excuse is that it has been unable with its limited wealth and law enforcement resources to eliminate all instances of rural abductions and ransoms stemming from tribal conflicts. When this is the position of areas under government control we can hardly expect any respect for human rights in zones devastated in rampant wars and areas outside government control .
You can touch upon the following points in your presentation.
Are there slaves in Sudan? If so how many are there and who are they ,who and how they were captureed;how long has this taking of slaves has been going on and what is the Government's policy. How can they be freed, whether slavery is the main problem in conflicts going on there.A look into the background of the wars and whether these are religious conflictsar. You can round the discussion off by dwelling on was and means for stopping this nefarious practice and what one can do to help in the the process of a Sudanese couterpart of Abe Lincoln emerge from the mess there.
There must be many sites dealing with this matter. I give below extract of the first page of this site obtainable on Yahoo search. There are ten pages of it and you can profitably consult them for preparation of your presentation. Here goes
