Keep it all red for the red-ball. And all-white for the white ball. The umpire wouldn't notice the edges to the keeper.

I think that the best looking cricket bats were the old cricket bats of the time of Don Bradman. They were dark brown, and simple. I like them because the players concentrated more on playing the best they could and less on how good their bat looks.

I like them plain with a black grip. Simple, like me. No frills.
And without an invisible hole that lets the ball through, which every bat I use seems to develop.
