Smallest is Hydrogen, largest would be, although it hasn't been created yet, element 121 also called Unbiunium according to IUPAC nomenclature. I say that because that is the largest element that would be able to be produced using current particle accelerators and colliders.

So you are asking which column of the table has the largest atomic radius in a given row. That would be the alkali metals (Group !A) because atomic radius decreases as you go from left to right across the table.

Actually the smallest is Helium due to the strong nuclear force. The electrons in helium are attracted more than the hydrogen electron. If you need a table of the atomic radius here's one. The atomic radius gets larger towards francium and smaller towards helium. Don't let these fools trick you by their assumptions. Just because hydrogen has less electrons and protons does not mean it's the smallest.

Really, H (Atomic No. 1) has the smallest and the newest element found (no name) Atomic No. 118, would logically be the smallest and the largest.
However, relatively speaking Fluorine has the smallest and Francium the largest. That is why they are the two most active elements on the Periodic Table.
Francium's valence electron is too far away to hold it and Fluorine's out shell is so close it has no trouble holding on to one more.
Get an "A".

Follow the answer given by #ferrai tiger. All other answers are jst assumptions made by them. It depends on electromagnetic attraction, shielding and elctron shells. It doesn't depend on the no. of electrons and protons.
