God created man. God created apes. They are two different species, although there are similarities.

LOL, yes to some degree it is an insult, something went horribly awry between us and them LOL... ;)

But seriously, we didn't EXACTLY evolve FROM monkeys and apes (we ARE apes, actually). To describe it more accurately, we share a common ancestor with monkeys and the other apes. In relation monkeys that ancestor is probably more than 15 million years ago while the ancestor that we share with the other great apes was likely only about 5-6 million years ago.

No, they come from a common ancestor. And an insult to who? The monkeys or the humans?
It's not an insult to humans, or at least it shouldn't be. We're animals too and should start realising we're not THE BEST just because we're more intelligent.

An insult to the monkeys and apes? Heh, maybe. We didn't actually descend from them. We descended from a critter that also gave rise to modern monkeys and apes. You didn't descend from your cousin Joe, but you both descended from Grandma Alice.

I never understood why it should be so insulting to be related to the other animals. Yeah, the monkey house at the zoo smells pretty nasty, but we've discovered soap, so that's not a big deal. What do we do that the other animals don't, besides reasoning? We eat, sleep, defecate, fornicate, scratch our butts, and die, just like they do. Our higher cognitive functions have not exactly saved us from any of the lower bodily needs, just made us more embarrassed by them.

Ha, ha, ha! I get the joke, it was a good 1, but seriously now:we did not come from monkeys and apes

We have a common ancestor with monkeys and apes; we did not " come from them ", whatever that means. You would have to ask monkeys and apes if they are insulted sharing a common ancestor with us.
