OH yes
my skin changes colors and textures too
when I am embarrassed, it gets bright red and it gets HOT, which causes me to perspire...
this is just like being real happy...all warm all over...
and if a girl does stuff to me, smiles, tickle, or pinches me..my skin responds in a similar manner as above..
but if I am cold, my skin shrivels up and gets tight..with little bumps on it..just like when a ghost comes near...
but when I get mad..I do not get cold, I have the opposite, I get hot all over, and I start to turn red...
so I guess my skin does more red than anything else...and I guess I get hot a lot...

Then my skin is pretty rough and green

it may be that your cat is experiencing some variety of discomfort in that area and petting aggravates it. older cats do get spinal aches and pains in basic terms like various different turning out to be previous animal(human) on earth. it somewhat is somewhat helpful to take her to the vet and get a inspect bypass-examine her backbone. She would have an injury thats taking its time to heal or something. Or it may in basic terms be previous age.

sometimes peoples skin gets red or flushed or even breaks out in hives or zits when they get mad.
if im very very anxious, i get hives.
