Any of the Dyson vacuums are excellent, but the DC15 is perhaps the best upright. It doesn't lose suction like other vacuums. It has a head that allows it to suck up more pet hair, etc. than others. Unlike other bagless vacs, it doesn't seem to spew a bunch of dust back, either. I got mine at factorydirectsuperstore.com

I gotta put my 2 cents in as I have just finished researching all the vacuum cleaners so I could purchase the best. I settled on a Filter Queen. There are others out there I considered, The Rainbow was second choice, with models for Riccar and Simplicity tied for third.

To me i think the Rainbow would probably be the best because it doesnt take bags that you keep throwing out and buying new ones instead all it takes is water. you put water in it vacuum and then dump the water maybe in your backyard or whatever. plus it coms with several different attachments so you can clan the tile, wood, baseboards, carpet, even hard to reach cobwebs. we have had a Rainbow now for about 6 years and can't find a better vacuum.but yes it is expinsive but you wont have to worry about replacing it for like a loooonnnnggg time.

I love my dirt devil. This is the 2nd one I've had. The new appartment sized bagless one works great! I had an electralux before this one but it didn't have the sucking power I need to pull up the (dog) hair on my carpet. So I decided to go back to the Dirt Devil. The only reason I had to get rid of my first dirt devil is because I was using it commerically.

I have a vacuum cleaner that is at least 10 years old and works great. It's called EUREKA and is sold in most department stores. It has always done an excellent job of cleaning our carpets, as we have a dog that sheds and the vacuum does a great job of picking up the dog fur.

Oreck has been the best I've tried, and they will fix it for free as long as you live. It's affordable and lightweight just as they advertise. It also gets up dog hair which I battle with on a daily basis.

The one that cleans your carpet the way you like.
They are pretty much all the same, it is the amps behind them that count.
