For the constipation, put a little bit of Vaseline on a q-tip and gently put it in her bottom (you don't have to go very far...just the very tip of the q-tip).

For the colic.....do you breast feed or bottle feed? If you nurse her, pay attention to what you are eating. Broccoli and spicy food will upset her tummy. If you are feeding her formula, you might need to switch to a different brand or even to a different type (soy, lactose-free...)

Good luck. I feel for you.

I'm going to assume if your baby is actually constipated that you are formula feeding. 2 weeks isn't too late to start breastfeeding if you get a little help and it will prevent constipation.

Try giving baby a nice, warm bath and then a soft tummy rub. Relaxing him/her may help. If you are breastfeeding, try drinking more water. When I started my baby on formula, she got very constipated so they had me give her just a little tiny bit of extra water. But you need to make sure not to give too much water when they are that little. I hope this helps.

For gassy babies there is some over the counter medication you can by cheaply at wal-mart. My first thing to try for a constipated baby would be 1 oz of baby juice and 1 oz of water together. If that didnt do the trick I would consult my doctor. There could be other problems.

Try putting a teaspoon of dark Karo syrup in the babies milk or water. This helps relieve constipation in infants. I did this for my babies and it seems to help the constipation.

If he is bottle fed, put a small amount of Karo syrup in his bottle. Start out putting it in every other bottle and use it in more or less depending on how it affects his system. This will help him stay regular! you can also put Karo in water it will have the same effect!

Ask your pedi if you can give her 2 oz of water. I gave my daughter that with Karo syrup. Ofcourse a recommendation by her pedi. So for every 2 oz I gave her a teaspoon of syrup too.

Nurse as much as possible. Breastmilk is a natural laxative. Keep her upright as she may have reflux (very common for newborns). Talk to her doctor if she hasn't had a bowel movement in a while. That can be very serious. good luck!

It could be her formula. We had that problem and had to switch the baby to a soy milk formula.

Maybe put a little bit of baby apple juice in a bottle with water and see if that helps.
