Over 3 months time, my period comes at the beginning, middle, and end of the month. I'm 19 and I've had my period since I was about 12 and a half. I don't think its always been irregular, but I don't know for sure. Can anyone help ?

Yes, you have three options, none of which need to be addressed unless you are sexually active and plan on starting a family at some time in the future.

1. Leave it alone.

2. Take hormones, prescribed by your OB/GYN, to regulate your period. She will give you a prescription for a pill to take once a day for 7 days, at the start of each month. This is not a birth control method, and works great for virgins who are not interested in taking birth control pills.

3. Take birth control pills to regulate your periods. Remember that birth control pills do not protect you against STD's.

Ofcourse see a DR first and I certainly am not one, but for me my period has been irregular since the start and the only cure for that per my Dr was being on the pill and from then on it was just once a month instead of 2 or 3 times much better plus your skin is better and the side effects are lighter and the length gets shorter plus no babies when not wanted so what are you waiting for especially since i'm sure your next sexual encounter isnt scheduled on your calendar and it takes like2 to 3 weeks to be really effective better be safe than sorry Good Luck KIMBUR

Since you're 19, go to see your Gyn and get advice on regulating your periods.
He/she can put you on the pill, the patch, or the shot - whichever would be best for you depending on medical history and preference.

I went through the same thing and went to the Gyn at your age. She put me on the pill for a year to try to regulate me.
