Rosecynth been Irish myself it amazes me how the old generation who when to USA become so racists. But Rosecynth we have many people from around the world living here. Nigerians, eastern Europeans etc. We have the largests Polish community living in Dublin in fact they have their own newspaper etc. I think this person from Co. Mayo is just a one off.

Just him, I reckon. Most Irish people I know have a wide ranging interest in other people and places, maybe partly because so many Irish people travel, and so many of them live or have family living in other parts of the globe.
Irish people are on the whole pretty cosmopolitan and lots and lots of them travel or visit abroad.
I have met a couple that are not like that, or are the opposite to that, but they in my experience are really the minority.

i'm English by start yet i've got lived in eire for 7 years and all i can declare is maximum human beings in eire are oftentimes very welcoming to beginners of all nationalities yet no person will rush to be your new buddy persons are regularly incredibly reserved a minimum of in the beginning, do no longer anticipate to be invited for dinner that kind of element, according to hazard after a at the same time as as quickly as human beings get to be attentive to you. That mentioned in case you're open and friendly and tutor an pastime in human beings's lives then maximum human beings of folk would be friendly and inviting returned. in case you do circulate right here please do no longer communicate continuously approximately yourselves ie the place you're from and what you have completed because of the fact in case you do then you certainly will locate eire incredibly a lonely place yet take the time to combine into the close by community, shop domestically, tutor an pastime in close by activities & you would be welcomed with open palms. Are you particular approximately shifting to eire and Mayo exceptionally? at the same time as that area of eire is gorgeous the climate fairly is dire most of the time exceptionally the NW region which catches the worst climate fronts that the Atlantic ocean brings us. we've had no summer time to speak of this 365 days, warmest days probable 23C and there have been according to hazard 7 or 8 days all summer time that warm, we basically had 4 or 5 BBQs all 365 days it basically hasn't been sunny adequate to sit down exterior. the cost of residing right that's extremely severe case in point application expenditures, petrol (gasoline), vehicle tax/coverage, well-being care, drugs, groceries etc exceptionally lots something you could think of of that's costly in eire, the only element this is unfastened is the gorgeous environment. quickly there are to be new taxes and costs consisting of water metering/sources tax that's all area of our ecu bail out deal. think of all of it the way by very heavily, I for one does no longer pick to retire to Co Mayo (sorry human beings in Mayo i be attentive to that's beautiful)
