I do exercise regularly. However, the past month and a half I haven't been to the gym b/c I was so busy with school, writing papers, and midterms. I want to go to the gym today. Would that be okay? I know exercising while pregnant is okay what about if I am 2-3 weeks pregnant? Any comments or suggestions would help.

No problem.

I commuted to work by bike every day of my first pregnancy. My OB said it was fine. I had to change my route a bit as I got bigger and found it harder to breathe (I had to navigate some pretty big hills). And I had to modify my bike a bit so that I could sit more upright; otherwise my knees banged into my belly with every turn of the pedals!

I also played indoor soccer during both pregnancies. The OB said it was fine to play as long as I felt comfortable doing so. I made it 'til the 6th month both times. After that, I felt like I was really slowing down. Also, my ligaments were loosening and I worried about twisting or breaking an ankle or blowing out a knee. And my center of balance was starting to shift, so I worried about falling. Plus, I was starting to avoid trapping the ball with anything except my feet--didn't want a deliberate, hard blow to the abdomen, you know?

So...stay hydrated. Listen to your body. And take it easy or modify your routine when you need to. But working out is good for your body and mind, and it's good for the baby, too.

Yes, go to the gym! the healthier and more fit you are, the healthier your baby will be. Just don't overextend yourself. However, if you put extra emphasis on your pelvic muscles, abdomen and inner thighs over the next 9 months, your labour should be lighter and faster. I rode abicycle every day when I was pregnant with my second child, and he nearly just flew out. My both daughters walked quite a lot, upwards of 5 miles every day at work, and their second labours were much quicker and easier than the first when they didn't do as much

It's no problem to exercise while you're pregnant unless you are trying bodybuilding. heh I've never been pregnant but I'm being told constantly that If i keep doing what I'm doing I might not be able to have kids(heavy lifting)... but I like the challenge so...

go for it! anything you can do to improve your own health will only benefit your baby. there are all sorts of pregnancy workouts too. i'll bet if you sought out help from someone who works at your gym, they would be MORE than happy to show you how to modify your exercises, which you will especially need to do later on down the line.

exercise while pregnant is very good for you. Be sure to not overexert yourself. You should not be raising your heart rate over 120 beats. Walking or swimming is the best exercise while pregnant.

Its OK. Just rest when your body tells you to and make sure you drink alot of water. You wont miscarry because you exercised.

Light excercise would be okay. But, you should not lift anything heavy. Good luck.
