Because myspace can be very dangerous for young people under the age of 18. You give away to much to the wrong people and that can hurt you in the long run. And alot of the teenagers and teeny boppers are going on there and looking for guys/girls to hook up with instead of looking for friends and just meeting friends. Everyone wants to try and meet and just because it says they are 12 or 13.. or whatever age you are... doesn't mean that they really are. That is why it is also bad for chat rooms too. parents want to protect their children and make sure nothing bad happens to them. If you were going on to just talk to your friends then i don't see why they would be mad. But that is why most parents hate anything to do with the internet... its an easy target for rapist, pedophiles, murderers, and psycho's who just want to hurt and abuse children and young adults. Be safe and listen to your parents... you can always ask them why but I'm sure they will tell you everything that you will hear on here.

Because there are a lot of sick people out there and Myspace is an easy way for them to find you. Your dad just wants the best for you, and ending up in the bottom of a lake isn't exactly the best thing in the world.

Some parents don't want their children to grow up and learnt he truth of this horrible, treacherous world that they hide kids from. Sure going outside to play with neighborhood children is nice and all, but the internet is something that adults also have to worry about, like identity theft, so parents are no safere from the internet than their kids. At least MySpace is free and you can get to know band members.

my dad did the same thing-its because of perverts basically. A lot of inappropriate stuff definately makes parents uncomfortable. my dad deleted mine but i got another on (shhh!)i dont get on it from home so no worries =] just be careful with who you talk to,are the people you talk to people you know?,and are they really your friend? 150,00 new users on myspace everydsay so who knows when something bad can happen. I can tell you why from personnel experience. Myspace.com is sweet, I loved chatting with Friends there. Then. one day a profile showed up in Friends he wanted me to visit his house, i agreed, told the police where to find him, and the rest if history. The point is your parents are trying to protect you and keep you safe.

It's a dangerous place to be if you are very young, there are many pedophiles on there and other people that you should not be associating with. Your parents are trying to protect you, if my children go on there I will do the same as your parents did.
