Many here say that they feel Americans think they are "better" that the rest of the world...
1. Do you PERSONALLY know any Americans that feel this way?
2. If not, who or what has made you feel this way? If its just our gov, is this a fair lable to put on a nation of 300 million?

Europeans have always been jealous of the USA. They are really going to love the USA when the next world war starts in their country. Europe will be in a bigger fight for their lives than when Hitler was after them. The Mohammedans want you all dead-you better wake up over there.

1. Yes, several.
I don't label the whole nation as arrogant though. Generalizations are bad. But there really is quite a lot of Americans who are like that, which is probably why some people get the impression they're all like that (people tend to generalize).
The hate towards the U.S. is mostly towards the government though and the people who put those nutheads into power.
EDIT: John, this IS an ethnic European answer.

I'm Italian and I can tell that mostly of us and in general of Europeans don't hate Americans at all. We are perfectly aware of the fact that probably,without you, we still could be under the Nazis and that the achievement of our freedom is surely thank to your Country.
The main reason why you've this feeling is because we,the normal people,are not going in the streets and shouting "BUSH GO HOME". Those one who are doing that are filling up the pages of your newspapers (and ours) while the silence doesn't make the news.
Believe me,you've a wrong feeling because mostly of Europeans are not hating US.

Some Americans do think they are better than anyone else, because their country is on the news everyday and they have all the technology. the world sees them as slobs and lazy people.
well you pay japan and all those countries that invent all those devices that americans buy off. cant you see "made in china" NOT AMERICA
