I recently have found a liking to the 360 and may purchase one.Although I have many questions.

1.Core package or premium package? Is the premium package worth the extra $100?
2.How much is Xbox Live monthly? Is there a monthly charge? How do you pay? Is Live really worth it?
3.Are there any serious things about the hardrive i should know about?

1. Depends how many different games you play. If you like playing lots of games then definatly get the premium package. Having the harddrive is awesome as you don't have to have tons of memory cards and deleting games to make space for new ones.
2. don't even bother getting a 360 if you don't plan on having xbox live. All the games made for it are made to be played online. Games like Chromehounds for instance have absolutly no use in an offline mode. Online is where the market is for the 360 it's all about your community and online friends. The system is 100% built for it. If you will never get online then just go buy your PS3.
3. I don't think so.. Get the hardrive it's worth it. Also you can download demos to your haddrive to play. Don't get sucked into the frickin microsoft points system though. It's a HUGE ripoff.

firstly, get the premium console.. it is worth it, as it has a 20GB hard drive.
secondly, live is worth it, but get the year membership, its a much better deal.
and lastly, the only serios thing about the hard drive is that its got 20GB of memory... much better that buying a memory card..

hope i helped and good luck buying your 360..
