Asutralia in the recent past have faltered after good starts. Their India tour (When they lost after enforcing the follow-on) and the last Ashes series are two examples - and these are perhaps the only two series they have lost in recent years. Both times they won the first test.

Fair comment, but England's performance over the first three days has been lamentable. The Aussies, particularly Ponting and McGrath, came out fired up for this Test, whilst our lot looked defeated from ball no. 1. If Ponting wants to really turn the screw and bats on until lunch tomorrow and sets England a target? of 750+ we could suffer a humiliating defeat. Historical note - in 1928/29, England (521 & 342-8d) beat Australia (122 & 66) by 675 runs at Brisbane. We could suffer a similar fate. I cannot imagine that England could come back after such a defeat.

England lost the 1st Test of last series to Australia by 239 runs. I fully agree with you that the series has just started and still time for England to come back. However, I doubt whether England will be able to retain the Ashes considering the present strength and form of both the teams

I keep telling everyone England lost the 1st test last time too. There is NO way either side has a definite hold on the Ashes yet. The fact that Ponting and McGrath are injured has helped our odds, although I would prefer it if England beat a full strength Aussie side! :-)

Totally agree and you are correct.
Our media loves to trash our sportsmen at any opportunity.
OK we lost the game and played poorly apart from a few individual performances. We will bounce back I am sure so leave the guys alone and go and pick on our rugby players and their coach their losing streak really is something to moan about.
Freddie Flintoffs barmy army will lift the boys on Friday and hopefully the selectors will make a change or two so that the best side is on the park.

i understand you pronounced it extremely is principally geared in the direction of MrJinx, yet i don't think of any Australian on right here be it MrJinx, Bingalee, myself or the different member thinks Australia will actual win the Ashes. in fact i think of they'll probably lose the sequence, yet I do think of they'll play extra useful than they did in India and could probably win a tournament or 2. Who is accustomed to they could have gained final time in England had it not been for the climate, so an analogous might ensue this time additionally. in basic terms time will tell.

I don't suppose the open topped victory bus (what a load of tosh) will be ordered by the Aussies.
