Technically: more then one. I believe that the Alamo was under seige for around ten to fifteen days and in during that time, many battles were fought. Could say countless. Inner battles would rank up there as the actual final battle itself. So if your talking about actual hand to hand combat: it could be said that it started on the first day and ended on the last. Psycoholigical warfare is harder on the person then the actual battle.

The building you see in San Antonio called the Alamo is actually not the building where the Texicans fought for their independence from a ruthless, brutal Mexican Dictatorship......that building was destroyed in the seige and by Mexican engineers when they left the area.
The building you see is a replica, and not even an accurate one and possibly not even in the right spot.
It's true the Texicans swore loyalty to Mexico. But the benevolent Mexican government they pledged themselves to was long gone....replaced by a violent dictatorship that was killing all it's enemies, particularly Native Americans. This government of Santa Ana never lived up to their agreements to the Texicans so there was no contract with Mexico.
Please do not believe the Anti-American lies that Texas and the Southwestern US were stolen from Mexico. Mexico never owned theis land....Spain did...and the corrupt Mexican politicians were well paid for it anyway. If anyone has a complaint, it';s the Apache, Commanche and Pueblos.

After its later abandonment as a mission, it was used as a fortress in the 19th century and was the scene of several military actions, including most notably the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, one of the pivotal battles between the forces of the Republic of Texas and Mexico during the Texas Revolution.

There was one main battle. This occured because at the time, Texas was part of Mexico and all of the people inside the Alamo were engaging in treason. Although those folks in the Alamo were portrayed as heroes, they truly were traitors because they took Mexican Citizenship, agreed to convert to Catholicism and learn Spanish. These people started a fight with a weaker, peaceful neighbor in order to rob Mexico of its land and wealth.
