It's not an "official" bond film as it wasn't made by Cubby Broccoli's "EON" production ("everything or nothing")

It was allowed to be made because a chap called Kevin McClory had the original idea that Fleming based the book "thunderball" on. Therefore he was allowed to make a film based on this story and use the Bond name - but coudl not make a new story based on bond. That's why it's a remake of thunderball, but not as good.

No, it is not an official Bond film, as it was not produced by Eon Productions, which holds the film rights to the Bond stories. "Never Say Never Again" is really a remake of "Thunderball."

supposedly not... "The 21 i'm counting because of the fact the middle canon are those produced with the aid of Broccoli/Saltzman, later in basic terms the Broccoli relatives (all of which i'm going to in basic terms communicate with as EON Productions). I even have not something against the two non-EON videos (1967's on line casino Royale and 1983's by no ability Say by no ability returned), yet i'm able to by no ability particularly savor their ratings because of the fact neither substitute into allowed to apply the nicely-prevalent "James Bond topic", whose use is controlled with the aid of EON. So all references that shop on with come from the middle canon, following the guideline of thumb: "in case you pay attention the James Bond topic, it counts." in my opinion, if the character is james bond and he performs a "00" agent and he saves the international from some loopy evil genius of kinds... this is AN expert JAMES BOND action picture. its somewhat as much as the guy at that element and what they choose to settle for.
