Oh, man I fit this stereotype! I hate to cook! (But I do occasionally.) Why? Because it messes up the kitchen, then I have to clean that up. Maybe it's not so much that I hate to cook, but that I hate to clean. I don't even have a good excuse like I have little kids anymore or anything. But I hate it. I get home at about 6:00 o'clock. Then I have to grade papers. Then I just wanna read a book or something. Not cook. So, during the week its salad, sandwiches, or stop by EZs or Bill Miller Barbeque on the way home.

You can't generalize like that. I'm an American woman and I love to cook.

That's a very broad generalization. I like to cook, but I frequently don't have the time to. I do cook for special occasions and such, but I just generally grill some chicken or fish and put together some veggies or a salad for an evening meal. I also love to bake desserts, but again I don't usually have the time.

Not true! I love to cook. And, I think that many American women have too many things to do... by the time dinner rolls around they;ve had a full day and are tired.

I love to cook if I have the time and energy to be creative, and if there;s someone there to appreciate my efforts.

I'm an American woman and I love to cook, and I'm rather quite good at it too.

Why you think American women dont like to cook? American women like to cook as much as anyone else, and many of them are better at it than most.

We as women have had our roles change. These days we have many things to do other then cook. We have to balance a very big plate often times.

I am sure that many of us would love to cook more, just not enough hours in the day.

We also have many alternatives to doing the cooking ourselves.

It's not American women that don't like to cook, just lazy ones. I cook everyday in my house and I love it. It's an expression of love for my family to me.
