Since you say the refrigerator is new, the smell is probably just the gases from the new plastic paneling inside the frig.
You did the right thin: clean it with a solution of soap, water and baking soda. Keep a box of baking soda inside the frig to absorb the odors.

Take vinegar and wipe the fridge well with it. Leave it open for some time. Then wipe again with a glass cleaner like Colin or just wet cloth. This should help. Also for a few days, keep a halved lemon, cut side up in the fridge. It will absorb all other smells.

Use a bleach soultion. Lysol cleaner with bleach is very good. Also, you have the right idea with baking soda. Clean it out with what I mentioned and continue to keep the baking soda in there. And then when you are done, use the baking soda to make a nice big cake (not!). Seriously, go with the Lysol bleach spray cleaner and the baking soda.

We had the exact same problem with a place we moved into. My wife gave the fridge a vinegar bath, turned up the fridge up as high(cold) as it would go for about 3 days then left the baking soda in it. This worked for us hope it will work for you.

clean it again with a solution of 1 cup bleach and 1 quart water, then rinse carefully and thoroughly. Don't forget to wear rubber gloves since the bleach can do damage to your skin. It should remove any old mildew smell

Clean it again, and put a good smelly bag of coffee beans in it. The Beans will soak up the nasty smell in your fridge
